Botox for Hyperhidrosis
Botox injections are a new treatment option for people with hyperhidrosis. Botox works by blocking the nerves responsible for activating your sweat glands. Normally, your nervous system activates your sweat glands when your body temperature rises. In people with hyperhidrosis, however, the nerves that signal the sweat glands are overactive. Botox only prevents sweating in the specific area where it’s injected.
How long will it take to see the results after the treatment?
The earliest results can be seen 2 to 4 days after the treatment. Maximum results can be seen about two weeks after the Botox is injected. Treatment may be needed again after six months.
Who should consider getting this treatment?
This treatment is ideal for people who suffer from excessive sweating, especially in the underarms area, along with those who suffer from darkened skin due to excessive sweating.
